The Educational Specialist in school psychology provides training for a professional career as a certified or licensed school psychologist. Training is based on a philosophy that promotes the balanced development of the mental, physical, social and spiritual nature of individuals. Typical responsibilities are assessment, diagnosis, consultation, and intervention services to preschool and school-age children with educational, emotional and behavioral problems. This program also provides field, practicum and internship experience.
The EdS is a 65-credit program which can typically be completed by full-time students in three years.
The EdS in school psychology programs only admit new students for fall semester. Exceptions to this can be discussed with the program’s coordinator.
Prospective students must submit their applications by July 30 for the year they wish to begin.
