More than 30 Andrews undergraduate student researchers have tackled various research questions and reported new findings in multiple subjects. Some of their studies include the analysis of unique mating behavior observed in an Amazon dolphin species, the characterization of Euclidean 3-space co-successors, and the creation of a mobile app for sign language.
Viewing racism through Beyoncé's album, finding a new framework to study the involute of curves, and analyzing the works of Bolivian women composers are just a few examples of the various research topics Undergraduate Research Scholars has addressed this year. On top of representing a vast range of subjects, URS scholars' research works cover an extensive region of the study areas ranging from Berrien County to Honduras and Jordan.
Undergraduate Researcher Scholars investigated a range of topics that included measuring the effect of targeted class activities on common and persistent student misconceptions on remedial Mathematics examinations after online learning, synthesis of novel hybrid Valproate Quaternary Ammonium Acylals for bipolar disorder, the temple to church transition in the cities of Decapoli, and much more.
Topics of the Undergraduate Researcher Scholars included the evolute curves of rectifying curves, synthesis of antibacterial properties of ATP-6K and analogs, substance abuse and sexual misconduct among sexual minorities, the musical philosophy of Pedro Eustache, and much more.
Undergraduate researchers and creative scholars pursued a wide range of projects this year - investigating language development, archaeological ceramics, mental health, silver nanoparticles, manatee teeth, and much more.
Research topics this year included anti-cancer testing, literary analysis, the doctrine of God, physical disabilities, and stock prices.
Testing PAMAM dendrimers, developing mobile apps, and analyzing infections in Madagascar... Another fruitful year of undergraduate research.
