Regarding off-campus jobs posted on the Career Center’s website and social media profiles
The 老司机传媒 Career Center acts only as a referral service for the posting of off-campus opportunities including those that are not sponsored by the university or its affiliates. Due to the volume of jobs received by Career Center, we are unable to research the integrity of every position listed. As such, the University assumes no obligation or liability for verification of the validity of postings.
Students should, therefore, be vigilant and cognizant of potential job posting scams and exercise extreme caution and intuition in applying for off campus positions.
Use the following tips to help you avoid fraudulent employment activities:

Do not provide personal information (including your social security number) or bank information over email or phone.

Do not send money to an employer for any reason. You should never have to pay for employment opportunities.

Do not accept payment for work not completed.

Do not accept cashier's checks or money orders as a form of payment.

Be wary of employers who are outside of the country.

Be wary of employers who are pressuring you to start right away.

Do not accept jobs offers for positions you did not apply for.

Research the employer by checking their website or visiting the Better Business Bureau to read reviews, call the phone numbers listed on the ad, verify the address listed.

Be wary of jobs that seem too good to be true.

Exercise caution in meeting with an employer you do not recognize or are not able to verify
