ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a baccalaureate degree: A four-year degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.50.
  • Regularly hold membership in the Seventh-day Adventist Church—the MDiv program is specifically designed for Adventist ministers and is sponsored and financed by the Adventist church.
  • Represent high moral integrity with a character, lifestyle, and spiritual commitment reflective of the beliefs and practices of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and show promise of usefulness for Adventist ministry through personal maturity and adequate experience in the Church. (Persons of other faiths who are willing to live in harmony with these standards are welcome to apply.)
  • Submit an autobiographical history and a 350+ word statement of purpose reflecting the applicant’s family and spiritual development, sense of calling to ministry, experience in church work, and future goals in relationship to the MDiv program.
  • If married, the spouse of the applicant is also asked to complete a statement in regard to his or her feelings and relationship to the partner’s aspirations for future ministry.
  • Undergo a criminal background check as prompted in the online application process. The criminal background check must be completed within six months prior to beginning coursework.
  • An interview with a representative of the MDiv program may be required, either by personal contact, telephone, or video.
  • Pre-admission Conduct Disclosure Statement. Complete and submit to the Seminary the “Pre-Admission Conduct Disclosure Statement.”
  • Submit recommendations from three professionals:
    • Church board where the applicant is a member
    • Church administrator, pastor, or elder
    • General Recommendation from: College teacher or advisor, recent employer, or some other non-family member

  • Fall (August–December): July 15
  • Spring (January–May): December 1
  • Summer Session 1 (May–June): April 1
  • Summer Session 2 (June–July): May 1
  • Summer Session 3 (July–August): June 1

TUITION & FINANCES

  • Full-time students (10-14 credits in the fall and spring, 8-12 credits in the summer) will pay the standard flat fee of $3,623/Semester (Summer $3,109).
  • Students registering for less than a full-time credit load will pay tuition of $392 per credit.
  • Additional online course fee: $155/credit
  • General fee: $530 per semester (Fall or Spring); $175 (Summer). Off-campus (hybrid) students, and those at 4 credits or less on campus will pay $155.
  • Seminary Activity Fee - $20 per semester (on campus students only)
  • Textbooks: $150 - $250/Semester
  • Overload Credits: Students registering in Fall or Spring semester for more than 14 credits and Summer for more than 12 credits will be charged $1,267 per overload credit
