Deah Love Harriott is a classically trained pianist and vocalist hailing from Lincoln, Nebraska. Deah Love’s parents recognized her innate love and talent for music at the tender age of 3 and navigated it with the leadership of great music teachers and professors. Deah Love was later heralded as fostering an appreciation for cultural music throughout the state of Nebraska, as the youngest person to receive the Mayor’s Art award, and was recognized with the Outstanding Music Alumni Award by Nebraska Wesleyan University (alma mater). Love is a traveling vocalist, adjudicator and educator, specializing in voice, piano and organ (hammond and pipe), with focuses in classical, gospel, jazz, and r&b, and is the Minister of Worship & Fine Arts at Bethany Baptist Church of Brooklyn, NY.
The gift of music has allowed Deah Love the opportunity to travel the world. She is also the former music director/arranger for the Tony award-nominated Broadway revival of Ntozake Shange’s “For Colored Girls” (Booth Theater). Former music director for the Tony Award winning musical “The Wiz,” (LCP). “Ain’t Misbehavin” (vocal designer, GEVA), MD/Composer (Camille A. Brown & Dancers, Co.), former resident artist at the historical Minton’s Playhouse Jazz Club (Harlem, NY), music/creative team “Marian Anderson: The Musical” & “Shout Sister Shout” project, creative consultant and audition accompanist for Norwegian Cruise Lines & numerous agencies. Deah L. Harriott & Images has a studio project “Sacrifice,” (EP/composer/producer) one of many projects which she has written, produced and contributed to. Music director/principal pianist for award winning off-broadway production, “Marie and Rosetta” (Atlantic Theater), music director “For Colored Girls” (Public Theater, NY), and featured on the Harry Connick Jr. show, Random Acts of Flyness (HBO), performed keys and vocals with multi award-winning Jon Batiste.
