"Young intercessors" are the kids you will be educating about the power of prayer, helping them intercede for someone in their lives. This activity can be done within 30 minutes and may be done weekly or twice a week.
Encourage the kids to have a list of things or people in their lives they want God to act on behalf of. The first 15 minutes can be spent sharing with them personal and biblical stories of God's intervention in the lives of pastors, churches, schools and biblical characters. These stories will guide the process of transforming the mind. The next 5–7 minutes may be given to any student who wishes to share a testimony or an experience relating to how God answers prayers in their life. The remaining time will then be spent praying for the persons or items on their prayer list.
Goal: At the heart of this activity is an emphasis on a relationship with God through prayer and His Word. Communication is a vital part of any relationship, so help students make the connection that prayer is a very important part of their relationship with Jesus. At the same time, they will also learn about God’s guidance.
