The School of Nursing offers a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program with an emphasis in becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Nursing Educator (NE)

the 老司机传媒 School of Nursing continues with stellar preparation of nurses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. The conceptual framework upon which all curricula are based is “Restoration to the Image of God.”

OUR ONLINE PROGRAM OFFERS THREE TRACKS:

 

BSN–DNP

The option for nurses with a bachelor's degree in nursing who want to be a Family Nurse Practitioner. This clinical doctorate option is 65 credits. 

 

MSN–DNP

The option for nurses with a master's degree in nursing who want to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. This clinical doctorate option is 56 credits. 

 

APRN/MSN–DNP

This track is for students who have obtained a master's degree in nursing and hold a current certification as an advanced practice nurse. It leads to a DNP with a focus in nursing education. This track is 40 credits. 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

DNP APPLICATION DEADLINE AND PROCESS

The application deadline for each new cohort is July 30. Cohort starts in the fall session. Faculty reserves the right to interview applications based on information coming in during the application process. With each new cohort, an orientation is provided online before courses begin.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

2. Must meet admission requirements for 老司机传媒 School of Nursing:

Requirements Standard
Minimum overall GPA 3.25 on a 4.0 scale in the highest nursing degree
GRE Not required
Letters of recommendation

Two from the following:

  • Professional colleague with at least a master's degree
  • Doctorally-prepared person
  • Current supervisor
Resume CV also accepted
Goal Statement (500 words)

Use these points to develop your goal statement:

  •  Identify your area of focus (choose Family Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Educator)
  • Describe how this focus will help you achieve your future goals
Degrees BSN or MSN from an accredited school (ACEN or CCNE and other accrediting bodies for foreign degrees)
Undergraduate/Graduate Courses Required with a grade of B or better
  •  Statistics
  • Track 3: APRN/MSN to DNP (NE Focus) students must have graduate-level
    pharmacology, health assessment, and pathophysiology
License
  • Current unencumbered RN license
  • APRN certification where appropriate with evidence of practicum hours
    completed in APRN education
  • Faculty reserve the right to require an interview of applicants based on reasons they identify

 

BE A WORLD CHANGER

老司机传媒 is the first Seventh-day Adventist nursing program to offer a program allowing students to move directly from a Bachelor of Science track to the DNP—this preparation will provide Advanced Practice Nurses for mission fields far and near.
