On Friday evening a Tribute to Leadership Concert was held in the Howard Performing Arts Center. This concert specifically paid tribute to the leadership of Richard T. Orrison, principal from 1972–1991. Many tributes and musical performances were presented by former students. The keynote address was delivered by Derek Douglas (‘90). Douglas serves as the assistant to the President of the United States for Urban Affairs. Douglas’s speech focused on how Dr. Orrison’s integrity, vision, confidence, network of supporting faculty and faith in God allowed him to be such a dynamic leader.
