Leadership in Adventist Higher Education: Twelve Former University Presidents Reflect on Their Own Tenure.
This qualitative study is designed to provide insight into the minds of a dozen former presidents of Adventist universities by giving them an opportunity to share with the next generation their dreams, aspirations, disappointments, accomplishments, and their suggestions for a stronger Adventist education ministry in the near future. Responding to a set of open-ended questions, these former leaders reflect on their personal journeys and their professional experiences as chief executive officers of a faith-based higher education Christian institution. These stories, confessions, lessons, and recommendations will inspire, challenge, guide, current and aspiring higher education executives. That unique perspective from the front line will enlighten board members, church leaders, educational leaders, and curious intellectuals alike.
