An Evaluation of Adventist World Radio to Improve Audience Mission Impact
The General Conference Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research (ASTR) issued four Request for Proposals (RFP) to evaluate Adventist World Radio (AWR). The first focused on a literature review of Christian radio and similar media evaluation studies. The basic objective is to find out what is known about the impact of Christian media and how to improve the impact. The second RFP was to conduct a leadership survey to ascertain the views of SDA Church leaders regarding AWR. The third project involved conducting an audience survey in two targeted areas, India and Russia. The fourth study was to utilize a focus group methodology in various language groups to ascertain that group’s evaluation of AWR programing and its impact on their lives.
Our research group at Andrews was awarded three of the four projects. We were awarded the literature review, the focus group study and the audience survey.
