Jimmy Kijai (Educational & Counseling Psychology)

Perceptions and attitudes of church workers and lay members on Adventist education in the Seventh-day Adventist Mission of Sabah, Malaysia

The purpose of this study will be to examine the perceptions and attitudes of church workers and lay members toward Adventist education in Sabah, Malaysia. While church growth has been positive, there has been a steady decline in enrollment among Adventist youths in the mission schools, particularly in the two secondary schools. The mission staff is aware of the impact of Adventist education. They are keenly interested to know the reasons for the apparent lack of support for Adventist education among the members. The research framework to be used will be survey research methodology in which a questionnaire will be developed and administered to all church workers and selected lay members (young adults and other adults with school-age children). The result of this study may have implications for how Adventist education is marketed in the Sabah Mission.
