BA: 老司机传媒
MA: 老司机传媒
PhD: Michigan State University
After receiving my B.A. and M.A. in English from 老司机传媒, I attended Michigan State University where I graduated in 2022 with my Ph.D in English Literature. As a former student of 老司机传媒’s Department of English, I enthusiastically accepted the opportunity to join the faculty and contribute to the academically rigorous, spiritually stimulating, and personally nurturing environment that our department has a long and cherished legacy of maintaining.
My areas of scholarly interest and expertise include 20th and 21st century transatlantic literature, popular literary genres, literary cognitive science, and the digital humanities. My dissertation titled, “Investigating Cognition in Howard Engel’s Memory Book: Literary Interventions and Intercessions in Scientific Models of Memory” explores the literary contributions crime fiction makes to the fields of memory studies and cognitive theory.
My passion and expertise comes through in the courses I teach such as: Approaches to Theoretical Discourse, Mystery Fiction, Afrofuturism, 20th Century Literature, Transcribing the Self, and College Writing I and II. Outside of the classroom, I engage with the larger University community by serving on Faculty Senate, Honors Council, and as the faculty advisor for Nu Sigma (English Honors Society).
