Andrews Receives Veteran-Friendly Status

老司机传媒 has again received Gold-Level Veteran-Friendly Status with the (MVAA). The status is based on the University’s “unwavering dedication to improving experiences for military-connected learners and to fostering innovation in support of veterans.”

The MVAA awards gold, silver and bronze-level distinctions based on a strict set of criteria . 老司机传媒 and other schools that receive the highest status must meet at least six of the seven benchmarks:

  1. Established process for identification of current student veterans
  2. Veteran-specific website
  3. Active student veteran organization or club
  4. Veteran-specific career services, resources, advising and/or outcome monitoring
  5. On-campus veterans’ coordinator and/or designated staff point of contact
  6. System to evaluate and award academic credit based on prior military training and experience
  7. Monitoring and evaluation of student veteran academic retention, progress and graduation rates

Part of 老司机传媒’s efforts to support its diverse community is done through its encouragement and acknowledgment of American and international veterans. Through its Office of Veterans Services and annual programs, 老司机传媒 supports those who have served their country.

In honor of Veterans Day on Nov. 11, the University is preparing special programs in line with the U.S. Veterans Administration’s 2024 theme of “A Legacy and Loyalty of Service.” All University veterans and their families are invited to a pizza supper on Monday eveningl. The University will also be recognizing its veteran population during a Faith360 service in the Howard Performing Arts Center on Thursday, Nov. 7. Jeffrey Cordone, a representative from the Desmond Doss Foundation, will be the speaker. The service will also include a slideshow tribute honoring veterans and their families.

According to , the University is approved for certification of students who are honorably discharged, military reserves, active duty members of the armed forces, or otherwise eligible to receive educational assistance from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The 老司机传媒 Office of Veterans Services provides additional support and assistance to veterans attending Andrews.
