Excellence in Teaching (Adjunct): Lilia Moncrieff
Adjunct Professor of English, Center for Intensive English Programs
Lilia Moncrieff has been teaching English as a second language in the Center for Intensive English Programs for 15 years. She has helped hundreds of international students navigate through difficult cultural and linguistic waters so that they can participate fully in the Andrews community. An English language learner herself, Lilia has built her pedagogical practice on compassion for her students and a dedication to best teaching practices.
Lilia’s colleagues have many wonderful things to say about her.
“Lilia demonstrates not only expert knowledge but also creativity in the use of technology, communication and teaching methods.”
“(Lilia) goes above and beyond the syllabus to reach out to her students and make sure they understand the work to be able to succeed.”
“She is Christ-centered, mission-minded and committed to making a difference for eternity.”
Both students and colleagues agree that Lilia Moncrieff has made a difference. She always has a smile and time to pray with anyone who needs it. She is caring, kind, thoughtful and giving to all who interact with her.
Thank you, Lilia, for giving your best to your students and colleagues. Thank you for being an example of excellence in teaching—and for modeling the best in Adventist education to us all.
