Filmmaker Martin Doblmeier will be discussing his new documentary on Rabbi Abraham Heschel on May 1, from 5–6:30 p.m. The film will debut on PBS in May and is available for purchase from the Journey Films website.
Minnetonka senior pastor Jiwan Moon and St. Paul Forum Chapter president Gary Blount will be hosting the event live. Alexander Carpenter, Spectrum board member, will interview Doblmeier and be joined by Rick Rice.
The Journey Films website describes Heschel with this statement: “Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel was one of the most remarkable and inspiring figures of the American 20th century. He was a mentor to Martin Luther King, Jr. and the entire Civil Rights Movement, a leading critic of the Vietnam War, a champion for Soviet Jews and a pioneer in the work of interfaith dialogue.”
