ANNUAL GIVING - Office of Development Student Assistant

Position summary
The student assistant role in the Office of Development focuses on supporting fundraising activities through data research, data entry, preparation of communication materials, and general office tasks. This position requires a strong dedication to the university's Seventh-day Adventist mission and values, along with excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Duties and responsibilities
Data Management:
Conduct research to update records, such as address changes, marital status, and other record updates as needed.
Assist in accurate and confidential data entry into the database system.
Donor Engagement:
Draft and contribute to writing thank-you letters, birthday greetings, condolence cards, and other donor communications.
Help maintain an active social media presence to engage with donors.
Fundraising Support:
Assist with the year-end Christmas mailing. This includes inserting letters into envelopes, stamping the envelopes, and mailing the envelopes.
Assist with year-end Christmas gifts to donors. This includes preparing the packages for mailing to donors.
Office Administration:
Organize and manage filing systems to maintain office efficiency.
Answer phone calls and provide information to general inquiries.
Support event coordination and logistics, such as for the president’s council meetings.
Other:
Carry out other tasks deemed necessary in the office

Qualifications
Academic Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing at 老司机传媒.
Communication Skills:
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with donors.
Organizational Skills:
Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Computer Proficiency:
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Basic knowledge or experience with database management systems is a plus.

Must align with the values and mission of 老司机传媒 and the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Learning Opportunity:
While a student will very likely not be involved in visitations and face-to-face conversations with donors; However, because of working in the Office of Development, a student will have the opportunity to gain limited knowledge and experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and fundraising strategies.
Conditions:
All the above activities conducted by students must be under the guidance of one of our officers in the Office of Development.

Physical demands
Extensive sitting. Should be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Occasional bending, stretching and lifting. Occasional travel to other locations on campus.
Work environment
Our office is located on the second floor of Griggs Building B. Typical office environment. Low to moderate levels of noise and activity. Some job responsibilities may require working in the building warehouse where some dust and/or other allergens are present.
